Anime metadata and taxonomy

Anime detail includes metadata: plain-text synopsis with its language, episode duration in minutes, source material, age category, licensed image references, genres and studios. Unknown scalars are null or unknown; arrays can be empty. Coverage depends on approved source data.

GET /v1/anime supports year, season, format, status, genre and studio. Genre/studio values are canonical slugs, combined with AND. Discover IDs/slugs through /v1/genres and /v1/studios; both lists support limit and after. Detail routes use canonical UUIDs.

Catalog supports id.asc (default), title.asc and updated.desc. Title ordering is case-sensitive PostgreSQL C collation, with UUID tie-breakers. Keep filters and sort unchanged when using after = page.nextCursor. Concurrent catalog changes can move results between pages.

Image URLs are metadata, not an image proxy or a guarantee of permanent availability. Images carry source-provided license and attribution. The reference frontend renders only operator-allowed HTTPS image origins; the API never fetches imported image URLs.
