GET /v1/search?q=frieren searches preferred and alternative canonical anime titles. Prefixes, typos and format/status/year facets are supported. Manga and other resources are not included yet.
q is required, 1–200 characters. limit is 1–50 (default 20). Filters: year 1900–2200, catalog formats, status announced/airing/finished/unknown. Unknown or repeated parameters return 400.
Responses contain items, page.nextCursor, found, truncated and facets. Continue with after and keep q, filters and limit. Relevance pagination is not a snapshot: indexing can reorder results. Only the first 1,000 results are available; refine filters after that. Each facet has at most 20 values.
Valid credentials require search.read. Existing anime.read keys do not gain it automatically; create a key with the required scopes in the portal. Anonymous search has a lower quota.
Indexing is asynchronous and eventually consistent. Disabled or unavailable Typesense returns 503 search_unavailable with Retry-After, never fabricated empty results. Use /v1/anime/{id} with anime.read for canonical detail.
